Volunteering We work to build civic society. Volunteering is work. Work is doing anything that someone, somewhere, thinks is worth doing. Some may only be thought worth doing by those who do it – dismissed, perhaps, as “hobbies”. Nor should it remove their right to work: to be useful and creative, to enhance the society in which they live.
